Guide to the UK
Situated in Bedfordshire and home to one of London’s airports, Luton hosts Britain’s largest one day carnival, which annually attracts around 150000 revellers. Famous for millinery and lace-making in Victorian times, the city’s museum in Wardown Park contains evidence of these crafts as well as toys and natural history exhibits. Wardown Park also contains a large boating lake and other amenities. A ‘hands-on’ approach to nature can be enjoyed at Woodside Animal Farm and Leisure Park and the John Dony Field Centre, an establishment dedicated to environmental education.
