Guide to the UK
Once infamous and much mocked for its concrete sculptured cows, the new city of Milton Keynes contains first-class leisure facilities, including the National Hockey Stadium, a real-snow indoor ski-slope and a renowned shopping centre. Always keen to progress and raise its profile, the town has recently acquired its own professional football club. This planned city managed to retain a sense of history through the incorporation of a number of old villages, and contains much open public space and parkland.
