Stoke On Trent

The six towns which constitute the city of Stoke-on-Trent came to prominence and prosperity in the nineteenth century as the centre of a major pottery industry, from which originated such household names as Wedgwood, Spode and Minton.Hanley can be considered the commercial and cultural hub of the city, containing as it does the Potteries shopping centre, and a Cultural Quarter which harbours the recently restored Victoria Theatre and the Sugarmill live music venue.
