North West

The North West of England lies above the Midlands on the West coast of England by the Irish Sea and is bordered on its east by the Pennines. The North West comprises the counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. Scaffel Pike in Cumbria is England's highest point at 3209 feet. Much of the North West is sparsely populated with Manchester and Liverpool contributing strongly to its population of almost seven million.
