Crewe
Crewe, and its sister town Nantwich, provide the visitor with a great mix of industrial heritage and rural charm. Crewe’s central location between the industrial power houses of the north-west and midlands enabled the town to assume great strategic importance during the railway age, and today remains a ‘railway town’. The pretty, rural space of nearby Nantwich provides a counterpoint to Crewe’s industrial splendour, offering country lanes, mediaeval market and music festivals.
