Lancaster
The ancient city of Lancaster boasts an eleventh century castle built on the site of a first century AD Roman fort, as well as many other buildings of historical interest. One such edifice of note is the Ashton Memorial which commands inspirational views of the Lune valley and Morecambe Bay. The area is also a famous seat of learning, the University attracting students and academics from around the world
