Situated on Scotland’s west coastland offering access to the Hebridean islands. Visitors to Oban enjoy some unforgettable panoramic views both inland and out to sea. The town contains a number of marinas and a harbour, but is now less a port and portal between islands and mainland, and more of a venue for aquatic pleasure seekers. There remains plenty for the land-lubber in the locality too. The western highland area contains Many Munros to ‘bag’ and culturally, Oban stands as a bastion of ‘Scottishness’ as many inhabitants speak Gaelic, and the town was host to the last Gaelic-spoken Scottish Parliament, in 1308.
