Guide to the UK
The lowland Scottish town of Prestwick is known chiefly for its airport which serves nearby Glasgow. Prestwick is Scotland’s oldest, thousand year old baronial burgh, and has links with Robert the Bruce. He is said to have drunk from the Well which now bears his name and lies close to St. Ninian’s Church. The town also has a well preserved Mercat Cross. Prestwick is not without its modern facilities, however. The town has an indoor swimming pool, windsurfing and tennis facilities, and a first class indoor bowling stadium.
