Dartford

Dartford is an old Kentish town which was once a centre for cement and paper-making industries. The town centre contains the 960 seat Orchard Theatre, and the peaceful space of the formal, Victorian Central Park, attached to which is the town’s museum and library. The areas surrounding Dartford are home to a dozen churches mentioned in the Domesday Book. Dartford is also home to the largest free festival in the south-east of England, which is held in July and provides a plethora of family based entertainments including arts and crafts, world music, a funfair, and face painting.
