Guide to the UK
Enfield is the northernmost of the London boroughs, around a third of which is green belt land. The area was a centre for small arms manufacture in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The Grade II listed building once used to produce Lee Enfield rifles now houses an interpretation centre, restaurants and indoor public space. Enfield also offers such attractions as a ten acre arboretum, the seventeenth century Forty Hall, Whitewebbs Museum of Transport, and Lee Valley Park, a well crafted and maintained ten thousand acre haven of green urban space, parkland and nature trails.
