Guide to the UK
The west London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham is a lively environ, and surprisingly laid-back considering its proximity to the centre. Fulham Palace is home to the Bishops of London and contains a museum and walled garden. Fulham’s status and profile grew greatly in the 1960’s as the Kings Road became the epicentre of ‘Swinging London’. The area continues to support a thriving, cutting edge clothing retail industry. Adding to the cosmopolitan air is the presence in the area of two multinational Premiership football clubs – Fulham and Chelsea – the latter of which has funded the Chelsea World of Sport Attraction.
