Guide to the UK
The bustling town of Maidstone in the centre of Kent was used for centuries as a lay-over for Archbishops travelling between Canterbury and London. The imposing Palace built for this purpose is now mostly used as office space. Other points of interest include the Museum of Kent Life, a Museum & Art Gallery, and the Tyrwhitt Drake Museum of Carriages, a collection of horse-drawn vehicles based in the stables of the palace.
