Guide to the UK
Gloucester lies in the Severn valley at the foot of the Cotswolds and grew initially as a roman garrison town. Naturally there are several buildings of interest such as the Tailor of Gloucester’s house, immortalised by Beatrix Potter, and the historic Gloucester docks which are home to museums, shops and restaurants. The city has recently promoted itself as a film location, as the fine cathedral was used as a backdrop to choir scenes in the Harry Potter films.
