Weymouth

The south coast port of Weymouth operates principally as a tourist town, as it has for the past two centuries. King George III liked to holiday there, which led to its renown as ‘The First Resort’.There are currently many avenues of interest and fun for the visitor to wander along. Much of Weymouth’s appeal lies with its pristine golden beach. Other attractions include Brewer’s Quay, a maze of Victorian buildings that now contain well-stocked arty shops; Nothe Gardens and Fort, the Sea Life Park, and Bennett’s Water Gardens in which the National Collection of Water Lilies is maintained. Weymouth stands as a gentle, civilised seaside experience.
