Guide to the UK
The cities of Brighton and Hove have enjoyed national status since the regency period. The future King George the Fourth made his home in Brighton, his legacy most strikingly embodied in the wonderful, Oriental/Subcontinental – inspired royal pavilion. His patronage ensured the resorts property, reflected in the grandness of much of its architecture. Brighton’s seafront is rightly famous for its long promenade and pier. Along its reaches one encounters the artists quarter where one can find intriguing one-offs, a fishing museum, the sealife centre, and many many quality restaurants and bars. The city is also renowned for its exceptional night life, parties and tribal squabbles on the beach.
