Guide to the UK
The town of High Wycombe nestles amongst the chalky Chiltern Hills on the river Wye. These natural resources led to its rise as a base for paper making and furniture manufacture. Indeed, so entwined with the latter is the town that periodically arches made of chairs are erected outside the Guildhall. High Wycombe houses the modern, thousand seater Swan Theatre, Wycombe Museum which unsurprisingly features a number of chairs; and nearby are sited Bekonscot Model Village and the Blue Max collection of classic aircraft, some featured in films.
